I need some dental work done, and also missing teeth but want them straight, what first?

In order of importance......

#1 your gums (a healthy dentition will set the stage for your restorative work, your ortho, and options to replace missing teeth). Visit your dentist, if you haven't already for an exam, periodontal evaluation, and cleaning. Make sure you're gums are healthy. He/She will come up with a treatment plan for you, and let you know if braces are an option.

#2 restorative work. Get your restorative work done, fillings, crowns, RCT, whatever it may be. This is the second most important procedure next to taking care of your gums.

#3 braces if you're a good candidate. Be prepared to pay around 2400-4000, but they are worth it. You will see an orthodontist for this procedure.

#4 bridges, implants, partials....for missing teeth. This will fall under the treatment your dentist prescribed for you.

not straight unless your willing to pay at least 700 buck at the least i mean right.
Reply:Go see a dentist first, he will tell you what you need to do.
Reply:I would get the dental work done forst, a cleaning if you havent had one in a while (1+years), then get the missing teeth replaced with bridges or post work. I would ask your dentist if the straightening should be done before getting the new teeth though, since I'm no expert on that.

Its expensive if you don't have insurance, but if you do, go for it! Having a nice smile is a really great ego booster!
Reply:i agree go see a dentis and they will tell you how to go about it, you might need some work on your remaining teeth and after all the work is done maybe u can get a partial or bidges stick with the plan that the doc gives you
Reply:first off, to make them straight, you need braces. but you have to see your regular dentist first. if you have cavities, they need to be fixed (priority #1). you need to have a periodontal exam while at the dentist. if you have gum disease, the entire treatment plan changes. braces are not an option as the teeth will fall out post ortho (if you have gum disease (periodontitis). in that case, you need partials etc. no one should put braces on you or do any strictly cosmetic procedures until all necessary restorative work is done; straight teeth dont matter if you are going to loose them. you would not build a home on quicksand so dont spend a fortune making teeth pretty unless you know you can hang on to them.
