i have a 1979 Chevy K-5 Blazer with a 10in.lift on 35in.tires. I love this truck. I thought the starter was bad because it was just makin a whining sound, I took the starter off and noticed there were 2 teeth missing right where the starter was hitting it when it cranks over. What should i do ??? And ive heard the flywheel is a long pain in the *** to change. Whats my options ?thank you for takin time to read this .
If your flywheel has a 2 teeth missing in a row duz it have to be replaced???
truth fully it does need to b replaced,,i own a repair shop,,and what it will do is keep eating the Bendix up on your starter,,and it will get worse,,i know its a good little job on that truck,,but it needs to be done,,it will continue to do damage to any starter you put on it,,eventually it will get more teeth gone off from it,,and it will ge to where you cant get it started,,good luck with it,,i hope this help,s.
Reply:yeah you should unless you want to keep eating up starter, and then eventually it wont turn over at all.
It actually is not as hard as you think with the proper tools and a lift
Reply:I would replace the teeth on the flywheel. You can do this instead of replaceing the flywheel
Reply:Yes, has to be replaced. The transmission has to come out to do it.
Reply:Replacing the flywheel if you remove the starter is not that hard, and yeah, you need to replace it. It%26#039;s just going to get worse.
Reply:yeah, it needs to be replaced. besides not being able to start the truck, you now have an unbalanced flywheel attached to the crank! it%26#039;s not that hard to do....if it was a S10 blazer it would be. but the full size has plenty of room to get in there and work
Reply:yep change the flywheel or buy a bunch of starters
Reply:Well, these answers seem accurate but not really experienced. The starter drive will be damaged. Bendix was the manufacturer years ago of parts on the starter. They are not made by Bendix anymore and if they were, it would still be called the starter drive. Now, the gears on your flywheel.....is this an automatic? Probably a 350 turbo or 400 turbo. It is the ring gear that is damaged. I personally have never had any damage from a worn ring gear, but it does happen from time to time. A new ring gear used to cost around 30 bucks and if you take it to a local welding shop they will charge you around 30 bucks for the work to swap them out. AFTER you pull the flywheel off of your engine.....NOW, put a very long bolt on each side of your bell housing when you take the 2 side bolts out. Drop the drive shafts, drop the starter, and take the rest of the bolts out of the bell housing. Now, slide the tranny back letting it ride on those long bolts. Now you should have just enough room to get your wrench up to the crankshaft bolts and get the starter out. Those long bolts need to be about 8 inches long. All-thread will work. Good luck.

Would you mind if a person who you admired or dated had their two front teeth missing?
... i had an accident 4 years ago and i lost my front top teeths, cracking part of my skull in the process (yep, pain was enough to last a lifetime)... to fill it i wear a denture, and no one is the wiser that i got the teeth missing. im 24 and getting into relationships and all is getting important but my teeth gap makes me feel down, that someone who has 2 tooths missing is undesirable.
i dont really want to get implants because i have to get two done.. and its too much pain to bare and costs will sky rocket, also havent got time to do it all...
so just wanted to know would you mind if a person who you admired or dated had their two front teeth missing?

if someones that picky to dis u cuz of ur teeth **** em, u dont want them anyways
Reply:Damn sorry to hear about your accident, but I%26#039;d be lying if I said it didn%26#039;t matter. Physical attraction is a huge part of a relationship (as shallow as that may sound), however not everyone feels that way.
Reply:Nope. Doesn%26#039;t change anything. Don%26#039;t worry too much about it. I know someone who has their 4 front teeth missing, they%26#039;re still a great person and are now engaged! Keep smiling %26amp; be happy!
Reply:I think that if your a good guy it dosnt matter if you have any teeth.
Reply:when u wear the denture does it not seem like a good fit. does it not look right or what?
and also if u could push your self get a implant. u mite only need 1 implant to cover the tow teeth. it%26#039;ll still look good because the crown will made as they are two teeth. whats wrong with ure denture?
Reply:i don%26#039;t think it would matter that much to me. what matters is how the person treats me and acts around my family and friends.
Reply:You wear dentures so it really wouldnt bother me. My boyfriend has a scar on his face and just about 3 months ago i just found out that he wears make up over it. At first he was so embarrassed but I love him, not his features...but now we go buy his facial make up together and he%26#039;ll put it on in front of me now without making me turn my head!!! The right woman will love your teeth missing but you just have to wait for her to come to you!

Can you wear retainers with one teeth missing??
i got my braces off and they gave me a clear retainers. One of my back teeth is about to fall off. Do you still wear the retainers if one teeth missing and let the new teeth grow??
Can you wear retainers with one teeth missing??
Absolutely. I had that problem too, only I didn%26#039;t just get braces off. The orthodontists don%26#039;t care if you have teeth about to fall out. They just want to put a bunch of stuff in your mouth so they can make some money.

The case of the "missing" GOLD teeth...?
A friends wife, (who is mentally unstable), was in state care for about 3 months....
When she was released... her husband noticed ...
Several of her teeth were MISSING....
Including a couple of GOLD teeth that %26quot;were%26quot; in perfect condition...
She told him she was sedated one night and woke up, the next morning, with the(5) teeth missing....
Is this theft or/and how should be handled?
Gold is $750.00 an oz. now! WHO WILL BE NEXT!
Any suggestions!..........
The case of the %26quot;missing%26quot; GOLD teeth...?
he needs to inquire with her care giver there, what happened and why.
if he is given the run-around, then he needs to get an attorney and file-malpractice suit with the institution or Dr. she was with.
EVERY SINGLE thing that was done to her, given to her, etc should be documented in her medical file at the state hospital. if not, then they were negligent and can be held accountable. also, he needs to be able to prove with dental records that those teeth were present and hadn%26#039;t been pulled prior to her stay with the state.
good luck and take care.
Reply:If this is true, your friend%26#039;s wife should get a lawyer. If she can prove that she had gold teeth before she went into care (dental records), she may be able to file a %26quot;res ipsa loquitor%26quot; claim. Essentially, it puts the burden of proof on the defendant. The facility would have to prove what happened to her teeth and further prove that it was not their fault. She really needs to obtain legal counsel.

Does anyone know if dentists will ever be able to grow missing teeth?
I read an article one day that said in three years dentists will be able to grow another tooth where one is missing. Does anyone know how or if this is true?

Im getting veneirs soon but one of my eye teeth are missing because i was........?
i was born without the adult tooth. is it possible to get veneirs even with a missing tooth? like can they just put a %26quot;venier%26quot; tooth in its place without having to have an implant first. :]
Im getting veneirs soon but one of my eye teeth are missing because i was........?
If you dont want an implant, they will probably make a small bridge for you to wear. It will have the missing tooth with something to fit onto the teeth beside it. It usually just snaps in.

Dentistry side Which is good for missing teeth? fixed bridge or Implant?
Fixed Bridge treatment is best for tooth missing or implants? Pls anybody who have dental bridges and implant can suggest, pls
Dentistry side Which is good for missing teeth? fixed bridge or Implant?
Depending on how many teeth you have missing a bridge is a good option....BUT, if the teeth that are to hold the bridge in place are compromised (ie. damaged or loose) a bridge is not too feasable, unless a dentist advises you that he can repair them well enough that you can expect a good 10 years of worth out of it. Implants on the otherhand have a very good longevity, provided you do not smoke and also care for your teeth %26amp; gums as prescribed by the dentist.....meaning brushing 2-3 times a day and flossing each day...good luck
Reply:i guess implant.
Reply:in tooth restoration for a missing tooth or teeth they have three options for that, we call it good, better and best...
good option is putting a denture to it
better option would be bridge
and the best option is an implant, though its costly its still the best option for a missing tooth or teeth.
i would suggests for you to consult your dentist reagarding your matter so that they could better assist you with your concerned matter. maybe they could do it there in their office or they could refer you to a periodontist that does dental implants or a prosthodontist that specializes in dental prosthesis/restoration
Reply:fixed bridge ( cheap %26amp; best) provided done by experts
Reply:Implants are very expensive, but probably the most permanent, bridges can come off eventually , if you for see a lot of problems with keeping your teeth, there are the denture options as well but I would suggest doing everything in your power to keep your teeth so an implant would be permanent.

Halloween costume (pregnant belly and missing teeth)?
I%26#039;ve looked all over for something in the Halloween stores that will make it look like one tooth is missing, but no luck. Does anyone have any ideas on how to black out a tooth or what to use? Also, any ideas on how to make a really good pregnant belly?
Halloween costume (pregnant belly and missing teeth)?
Blackened out tooth: Blackjack Gum. It was popular when I was a kid but haven%26#039;t seen it in years. I%26#039;ll bet the local liquor store has some.
Pregnant: Get a beach ball. You can fill this up as much as you want and it won%26#039;t be heavy to haul around.
If you%26#039;re going to be what I think you%26#039;re going to be, check out the pic at the link below.
Reply:try a costume rental store.
might be more expensive but they got better costumes
Reply:BLACK PERMANENT MARKER=]].....AND FOR THE BELLY TRY A BALLOON
Reply:For the belly try using a samll pillow and the black tooth, buy some eyelinner and try to draw it on there. Hope this helps
Reply:Punch yourself a couple times and find a gigilo
Reply:small fluffy pillio idk about the tooth maybe a notoxi marker Lol
Reply:A beach ball and wax with food coloring
Reply:dont go in the tralior park they wont think ur dressed up
Reply:tooth- a raisin?
belly- a big bowl?
=/ hmm not sure
Reply:you can stick a big rasin over your tooth, find some kind of black makeup maybe. just use a towel or pillow and some ace bandages to wrap around it.
Reply:4 the teeth use a black bit out of newspaper it sticks when it is wet.maybe a baloon 4 the belly
Reply:Chew cheap bubble gum until it is out of flavor and really sticky and then stick it on your tooth. On top of this, place a pre-cut out piece of black electrical tape.
For a really good pregnanty belly, if you don%26#039;t want to buy one of the fake bellies, find a pregnant friend and see if she%26#039;ll let you cast her belly in paper mache, then paint it flesh colored and wear it. Later on, she%26#039;ll have a keep sake.
Reply:The best pregger belly I%26#039;ve seen was at friend%26#039;s party last halloween and he made it by cutting one of those big dodgeballs open to fit his shape and stuffing it.
The teeth thing: it%26#039;s fairly easy to find those teeth at Party City etc. but if you still an%26#039;t try using eyeliner. Seriously, it works.
Reply:black eye liner...dry your tooth really well, and then color it black with the eyeline...tooth must be really dry.
Pregnant belly... cheap ball from wal-mart, tape a long pice of cloth to it and tie the %26quot;sash%26quot; around your your waist, don%26#039;t forget the tatoos and a pack of Marlboro%26#039;s!!!!!

how will i ever get a beautiful girlfriend? how will i ever achieve my dreams of employment, finding someone nice, a nice girl, emmegration to canada? living in a nice home? im 29 and have missed out so much, ive never worked and cant right now, because im awaiting a second opinion, and a correct diagnosis, and treatment. its not knowing whats wrong with you. knowing you have a mental illness, thats so frustrating. all i can think about is my dreams and how ill achieve them. i feel ive left it too late. i cant get over how i look and how im ageing, and my two bottom front missing teeth..i will i ever find that girl? how will i maintain my internet relashionship with the 20 year old girl ive known two years in canada? she said she loves me, wants to move here to england. but she doesnt no how my life really is and i really love her....can anyone lift my spirits make me feel like i have hope? i dread remaining in this one bedroom council flat on social welfare for the next 10 years

In England, if they have a Public Dental Hospital for people on Social Welfare, just get yourself on their Waiting List. That should be your No. 1 priority. Ageing with you probably is caused from medication, perhaps, smoking and drinking. You are still young, and once you have the diagnosis of your illness, you will be able to go where you want to with your dreams. Hoping you will be well enough to have your girlfriend going to England to be with you and I am sure if you explain to her about your life before she moves, everything will be O.K.

Does anyone know if you can get invisalign braces with crowns and missing teeth?
If anyone can advise me that would be great. I am thinking about getting them but unsure about whether or not I would qualify considering I am missing 3 bottom teeth and have one crown.
Thanks!
Does anyone know if you can get invisalign braces with crowns and missing teeth?
You probably can, but you should have a consultation with an orthodontist to get the best recommendation for your case. This link has a search feature on the bottom to find an Invisilign orthodontist in your area-

Thanks!
Does anyone know if you can get invisalign braces with crowns and missing teeth?
You probably can, but you should have a consultation with an orthodontist to get the best recommendation for your case. This link has a search feature on the bottom to find an Invisilign orthodontist in your area-

Hi friends i m 17 years old.My front 1 teeth is missing.I m currently wearing partial denture..?
Is implant suited for all ages??Will not my jaw bone grow still more and will there be any impact due to it ???Friends please suggest me a better way to replace my missing teeth Bridge, partial denture or implant???
Hi friends i m 17 years old.My front 1 teeth is missing.I m currently wearing partial denture..?
Ask a dentist or an orthodontist. I just don%26#039;t know, sorry. Good luck :D
Reply:If it%26#039;s just one get the implant, but wait a year or two more.
Reply:implants
Reply:My brother is 17 and he got an implant. You cant even tell its fake. I would totally recommend an implant. I mean, do you really want to be able to take it out, or have it fall out ?
Reply:stick a dentine up there
Reply:Males can grow until Age 21. The dentist will tell you what she/he thinks is best, but ultimately it%26#039;s your choice.
Reply:Do you have wisdom teeth yet? If so, get them all pulled, and wait 6 months for all your teeth to respace before getting an implant. If you don%26#039;t have the wisdom teeth yet, you will need to wait until you do before getting a permament implant. For now stick with the partial until your adult teeth are all in and settled. Otherwise you%26#039;ll just have the expense twice.
Reply:I would eventually get an implant. They last for a long time and are really sturdy. No more messing with bridges and partials.
The drawback is that they are expensive.
I would think it%26#039;s best to wait until you are about 20-22 since then you should have stopped growing. Gives you time to save up for the implant too.
Reply:Just ask your dentist. They would know. I don%26#039;t see why you wouldn%26#039;t be able to get it done. It basically goes down and wraps around the bone. I personally would wait until you get your wisdom teeth taken care of first. If you get those taken out first and then allow your teeth to move back into place if your mouth is corwded at all and then get the major work done.

Is there any thing I can fill in the gaps from missing teeth in the lower front?
I lost 2 of my adult teeth right in the front bottom.I am going to get lower dentures in the future.but Iam ashamed to even smile even thou I have upper dentures. Is there anything I can do to fill in the gap where the teeth are missing for when I am at functions or taking pictures? thanks
Is there any thing I can fill in the gaps from missing teeth in the lower front?
if you save up your money you can do the implants and then you would never have to worry or else get one of those bridges? Those can be taken in and out as you please. The only bad part of the bridge is that they do have to kill the roots in the teeth next to them.
Reply:As a Englishman I can understand your predicament. Our socialise medicine over in Ole Blighty is so bleeding bad that we sometimes resort to pulling out our own defective teeth with rusty pliers. I would find someone elses teeth to knock out and then glue them in.
Reply:have you looked into information about a bridge?
i had to have one of my adult teeth pulled because i had another tooth growing on top of it... as of right now i have braces, and there isn%26#039;t anything i can do about it however i%26#039;m getting them off tomorrow (yay me!) and my retainer will have a tooth in it... but after i stop using my retainer i%26#039;ve chosen to get an implant, but bridges were an option.

How do you men feel about women who are missing teeth ?
A woman is missing some teeth, but hides it well, other wise she is beautiful, inside as well as out, would you still date her or no?
How do you men feel about women who are missing teeth ?
I have my front teeth out, but ppl hardly notice it because I don%26#039;t have a horse smile!
I call this my Summer Teeth. Some are here. Some are there.
With a vacation in the middle!
I also call it my $2 Smile because it would take the Tooth Fairy $2 to pay me fo those two teeth!
A $2 Smile beats a $10 Grin HANDS DOWN!

Maybe I%26#039;m being too simplistic but if a woman is beautiful inside and out except for a few missing teeth I%26#039;d probably take the time to know her and eventually engage her in a conversation as to why?? It just doesn%26#039;t sound like something that could even be close to being a deal breaker!!

Would you ever go on a date with someone who has rotten &/or missing teeth?
One time, I told my mom about this guy with rotten %26amp; missing teeth who had a crush on me. I wasn%26#039;t interested in him. But she asked me, %26quot;NOW WHAT THE HELL U WANNA DATE A MAN WITH ROTTEN TEETH FOR!?%26quot; I%26#039;m not gonna lie. He was kinda cute, but I wouldn%26#039;t have dated him because of his teeth. He told me that he had some form of cancer in the back of his nose %26amp; the medications made his teeth decay. Some people say it%26#039;s in the heart that matters %26amp; not the physical appearance.

Is it possible to get braces with missing teeth?
Im getting my braces on friday and i was wondering if it is normal to get braces on if your missing 2 teeth. My upper 2 canine or watever you call them arent completely grown in yet. At least not enough to put a bracket on. Would they be able to %26quot;skip over%26quot; these teeth and put the bracket on later or something? what would they do?
Is it possible to get braces with missing teeth?
Yes, you can get braces with missing teeth. Just trust the dentist, he knows what he%26#039;s doing!
Reply:they will keep them under observation and put brackets on later
Reply:Yep, they put the brackets on the other teeth when they grow in.
Reply:yes. they%26#039;ll skip those two missing teeth that you have. and your dentist will wait until they%26#039;re grown out. i had the same experience. and also, i had to surgically remove my teeth. and it was no problem.

I have a ? on how to replace my teeth that are missing. my front teeth are in great shape its my molars.?
i am 32 and when i had my 4th kid which was 6 years ago. a little over a year my teeth started to break or crack on the top. i did take my vitamins and i breast fed for 6 months. well i want to fix the empty gaps in my mouth. should i get upper dentures partial, implant, bridge, or whatever options do i have. on 2 of my molars there is a small piece of tooth left on the other 2 i think the gum is closing and there is no feeling with the 2 that have the gum closed up. i am going to a appt for an exam and see what needs to be done. i amjust trying to figure how to fix the problem that i cna see and help me eat my food. and i dont think my dental insurance is the best. please give me some suggesttions i know i have to get some advice from a dentist but witht he missing teeth what should i do and what are my options that could be available or what is not a good idea, but my molar are the problem my wisdomteeth are fine.
I have a ? on how to replace my teeth that are missing. my front teeth are in great shape its my molars.?
If you can still make the conection with one of the back tooth with one of the front tooth, you can have bridges. Which is cheaper than an implant and better than dentures.
I suggest asking the dentist a plan for you and also let him/her know what you can/cannot afford now.
Everything will be fine, no worry. There is a solution.
The bridges DONT hurt
Reply:Im having 7 teeth extratced in 2 DAYS, Im so nervous, but anyways, I will be getting a partial to put in place of 6 of those as they are onthe top, 3 will be molars they are removing. You canget partials for just those areas. I have heard that bridges hurt like h@ll afterwards because they hve to crown the other teeth that will be holding the bridge in place, but I dont know, I have never had one. If you have an %26quot;Affordable Dentures%26quot; near you, they are pretty reasonably priced. You can look at their website and find the closest location is to you. Im having 7 teeth done, Aveoloplasty done, and a partial put in place of the missing teeth all in the same day for about 1200.00. My dentist wanted over 3,000 dollars to do this procedure. Hope this helps.

I have a ? on how to replace my teeth that are missing. my front teeth are in great shape its my molars.?
Is there a quick, less expensive way to fix ugly little teeth & missing teeth?
I%26#039;m goin on 15 and I have really ugly little teeth. My gums are kind on the big side, but not really too bad. The thing is I have really tiny ugly teeth. They%26#039;re so small they look like baby teeth and they%26#039;re kinda spaced out with good sized gaps between them. That%26#039;s partly cuz I%26#039;m missing 7 adult teeth(never had them) including 2 top front teeth(next to the middle ones), and I had to have a couple pulled out cuz it was gonna cost way too much to get them fixed. Some of my back teeth are more filling than tooth. Caps cost way too much and veneers too. My mom don%26#039;t have dental at her job so we would have to pay for whatever I get done if anything. I know what I want done and my mom kinda agrees it%26#039;s probly the only way I%26#039;ll get a nice lookin smile. I just want to know if there%26#039;s any other ideas that are not really expensive. I mean like $1000.00 or less to fix my whole mouth.
Is there a quick, less expensive way to fix ugly little teeth %26amp; missing teeth?
Sounds like you%26#039;re well on your way to toothless already. I hope that don%26#039;t sound mean and nasty cuz I don%26#039;t mean it that way. What I%26#039;m sayin is since you%26#039;re already missing quite a few teeth you will probly need at least partial dentures, but that doesn%26#039;t do anything for your %26quot;tiny teeth%26quot;. The only ways I know of to make them whiter and bigger is either veneers or crowns but they%26#039;re like way expensive. Another cheaper option that might be worth thinking about is regular full dentures. I got mine when I was almost your age because I had no enamel on my teeth and they started to rot and crumble away almost as soon as they came in. Some people tell me I never should have had my all teeth pulled out so young but it was the only way I was ever gonna have nice looking teeth at anywhere near a reasonable price. I need a new set of dentures now but it%26#039;s been over 10 years since I had mine. I still think it was the best thing I ever done and I%26#039;m so glad my mom thought of it and got it done for me.
Reply:A removable partial denture will do part of the job, maybe all with clever design. Well within your price range. Later perhaps you can get full rehabilitation.

Reply:I don%26#039;t know any cheap fix for your problem, but I bet T%26#039;s idea is probly the least expensive way to get nice lookin teeth. I know Affordable Dentures can do it for your price once your teeth are all out. I%26#039;m not sure what it would cost to have them pulled tho. It depends on where you live and other things. Reply:I don%26#039;t know what you could do to get nice looking teeth at anywhere near a reasonable cost except maybe dentures. You can get a complete set for about the same prices as 2 or 3 veneers or caps from what I hear. I never had veneers or caps but the prices some people say they had to pay are way beyond what I could ever think about, so I never considered them and just had the bad teeth pulled out. Dentures look just as good or better in some cases and they%26#039;re a lot cheaper.
Reply:DO NOT GET DENTURES!!! they are way more trouble then they are worth. Talk to you dentist about compisite resin Veneers, they are like the porcelin veneers, but are made out of the same stuff your white fillings are made from. SO MUCH CHEAPER!! you are 15 and you need to keep your teeth, there are other options besides dentures. this will fix your problem and keep you to a smaller budget. But they will need to be replaced every now and then if you chip or break away bits. ( should hold you up, while you save for the full crown work).

Is a dental bridge possible with two missing adjacent teeth?
Two of my rear bottom teeth are missing.. but my last one in the rear is still there. Is a bridge possible for two missing teeth that are right next to each other? In other words I have two gaps together but I do have supporting teeth next to each gap if that makes sense. Can one bridge do the trick?
Is a dental bridge possible with two missing adjacent teeth?
yes, you%26#039;ll need a two pontic bridge (meaning two fake teeth supported by two real teeth.) Completely do-able, and much recommended before the teeth start to shift.
Reply:It will depend upon several things; the condition of the remaining or abutment teeth that will support the bridge; if they have drifted or are leaning, exactly which teeth are remaining, the supporting bone structure and any if there is any periodontal disease involvement. This will also depend on %26quot;which teeth%26quot; are remaining; 1st and 2nd molars, leaving the 3rd or wisdom tooth and both bicuspids, or missing both bicuspids leaving a 1st molar (with 2nd and 3rd molars missing) and the cuspids or K 9, or is there a 2nd molar, missing 1st molar and 2nd bicuspid, or one of each or some other combination of teeth that are missing and remaining. Not everyone has all of the correct teeth due to orthodontics, cognitively missing teeth or extractions that aren%26#039;t remembered. The point to this is the larger the tooth, the longer the root system and the better the support for an abutment tooth. Also, there are some dentists that won%26#039;t use the wisdom tooth or 3rd molar for an abutment tooth. In any case, when replacing 2 missing molars or premolars, the pontics will require added support from the surrounding teeth since these teeth carry most of the weight bearing chewing force. Usually a long span bridge replacing two or more missing molar teeth, will require one to two extra abutment teeth for this added support. What this means is your dentist will most likely want to use the cuspid and the bi cuspid next to it, or both premolars or bi%26#039;s with the molar and two pontics. The addition of one or two extra abutment tooth is for the support and longevity of the bridge. Without needed additional support the bridge would likely torque the two abutment teeth during chewing and initially cause hypersensitivity, bridge failure, then eventually a root fracture. Its better to do the bridge correctly rather than try to get by without the support.
Discuss all options with your dentist. It may be advisable for you to look at a removable appliance or partial denture which could replace just these missing teeth or any others that may be missing in this arch.

Sometimes thing go hay wire and people are missing all the wisdom teeht or 3rd and seconds. and every variation imaginable. So there is nothing really else to know, except it happens all the time.

Dental? I have 4 missing teeth one on one side of my mouth and 3 in a row on the other side.?
How much for a bridge? Is their such thing as one bridge for the one tooth and will I be charged for all 4 seperate or is it one set fee for the 3 teeth thats missing in a row and the single on on the opposite side? Thanks
Dental? I have 4 missing teeth one on one side of my mouth and 3 in a row on the other side.?
Sounds like you need 2 bridges: one for one missing tooth and one for the 3 missing teeth. I would say a total of 2400-2600 for the porcelain fused metal bridge with one missing tooth.
One single tooth usually cost $800-900.
But probably they have to prepare you the teeth on which the bridge will stay and that means root canals. Thise cost another $700-800.
It%26#039;s expensive in the states.
I done my dental work in Europe. For a 10 teeth bridge fixed on 4 teeth I gave only $1500. The root canals were free since my dental work was so big.
Reply:what happened?
Reply:They will most likely charge you for the whole thing. Unless you only want some of it done. A bridge has to go between teeth, they might offer implants. Get an estimate first from a couple different dentists. Some will try to sell you everything under the sun to get it fixed. Others will just do what is necessary so you are healthy.

People with gross and missing teeth?
Can someone please explain to me how people can think that walking around with a bunch of teeth missing, or nasty stained teeth is acceptable?
It is so disgusting!
People with gross and missing teeth?
I hate talking to people who have gross teeth; whatever it%26#039;d be. Whenever I talk to them, I can%26#039;t concentrate on the topic, I just stare at their nasty teeth! My teeth are straight and nice and I%26#039;m thankful to my mom, wh o paid for my braces-back in the day. EWW. I can%26#039;t even imagine dating someone with nasty teeth! The people who are getting angry are those who probably are lazy and nasty and are ashamed you posted a question that probably addresses their issue or they%26#039;re idiots.
Reply:i guess theyre comterable like that
or maybe they do care but just cant do anything
Reply:I don%26#039;t know...I guess they are just old fashioned and think that it is normal. Maybe they can%26#039;t afford proper dental care. I think it%26#039;s gross too!
Reply:youre parents let you out of the house didnt they? how do they find that acceptable?
Reply:People have bad hygene, not everyone has Dental Insurance, and getting a tooth fixed is expensive. Are you going to be paying for it?
Reply:Because they%26#039;re scared to get them fixed?
But eww I wish they would just suck it up and fix them
Reply:Some day, it%26#039;s gonna happen to you.
Then your question will be answered! :D
Reply:As my sister would say, their eroded and corroded teeth?

One of the biggest reasons is the cost. When you have 2 kids and make $6 an hour, it%26#039;s a choice between putting food on the table or going to the dentist. Sadly, better-for-you food is more expensive than the stuff you can afford (or is given to you at food pantries)
Another reason is because of culture. Because, for generations, nobody ever went to the dentist, why should I - and it%26#039;s too expensive anyway.
Another reason is education. Since WV is an impoverished state, people are fortunate to graduate from high school - much less go on to college.People with lower educations, sadly tend to not be as careful with their teeth as they should be.
There are all kinds of other reasons - mostly boiling down to not being able to afford proper dental care.
Sad isn%26#039;t it? The most industrialized country in the world, with one of the highest standards of living in the world - doesn%26#039;t have universal medical/dental care for its citizens. We%26#039;re too busy fighting a war no one wants in countries where we are hated - all for the good of big business.

Reply:You%26#039;ve probably never paid a dentist bill out of you own pocket. Dental implants start around $2,000 each.
Of course poor hygiene of any sort is unattractive.

Reply:There are lots of reasons why people don%26#039;t take care of teeth, but I agree with you. Someone can be very nice looking and then they open their mouth showing missing, nasty teeth and you get turned off.
Reply:I do agree with you 100%. Dental care is inexpensive while your teeth are still healthy. If you let it go for decades, then of course it becomes unaffordable. The only point that I disagree with is that poor people put themselves in that position. I personally know of a single mother with a $3000.00 balance on her brand new home (she poured every dime into her mortgage), has excellent, EXCELLENT credit but was recently diagnosed with MS. Now, she can%26#039;t work and is living off her credit cards. She has applied for social security but it will take at least 2-3 years before she gets any benefits. This woman may lose her home, her car and ruin her credit. Not her fault.

People with gross and missing teeth?
I hate talking to people who have gross teeth; whatever it%26#039;d be. Whenever I talk to them, I can%26#039;t concentrate on the topic, I just stare at their nasty teeth! What treatment for Abnormal teeth [Narrow V shaped, missing etc]?
I%26#039;m 16 From the Xrays, i have one more baby molar left. i%26#039;m in the dental centre queue for braces [being subsidized].my case is complicated and ex.
of the four adult front teeth, three are abnormal. meaning they look pretty much like vipers. I%26#039;m to have two more wisdom teeth to erupt but only half has came out. how long will it take to fully erupt? it%26#039;s slanted.
there%26#039;ll be a mal and endo working on my teeth. braces, implants, bridges, veneers, caps are what i%26#039;ve heard from dentists and them.
what is the best treatment? really conscious and seldom smile.
What treatment for Abnormal teeth [Narrow V shaped, missing etc]?
It sounds like you have some congenitive problems that just aren%26#039;t your fault. It also sounds like you have an excellent team of Dentist, Orthodontists and Oral Surgeons working on your case, more than you realize. You are probably what most dentist refer to as %26quot;the case of a lifetime%26quot;. Meaning: This is the one they went to school and studied so hard for, and the one to be the most proud of when they are finished with treatment. You can be assured, they have %26quot;dentist friends%26quot; of theirs that have seen your photos and treatment plan. They have a lot of people giving their expertise to them on your behalf. If you don%26#039;t believe me, just ask one of them.
So back to your question of treatment. You are in good hands right now, follow their treatment. Do exactly what they suggest and take care of the teeth you have right now. They are going to use every one of those teeth to give you a fantastic smile, so keep them brushed and flossed till they move them around or put crowns, bridges or veneers on them. It%26#039;s hard to use them if they are in bad shape due to decay. Some dentist will question the care of the finished product after their hard work, if your not taking care of them now. So your part is in keeping them clean and flossed. Put your trust in those who are helping you right now. Good luck!

How long can I go with missing teeth before braces can't bring them back together?
I know they say teeth next to gaps tilt after a while and it can lead to tooth loss for those teeth next to the gaps as well...
My orthodontist wants me to get braces but I need to hold off for a while because of financial reasons (Please do not give me links to some insurance sites.. not interested as I already have insurance)
Anyway I%26#039;ve been missing these teeth for about 3 years.. when will my surrounding teeth be unfixable with braces if I don%26#039;t get them now? I%26#039;ll get implants after I get braces.. but need to know how long I can hold off on this before they get tottally messed up.
How long can I go with missing teeth before braces can%26#039;t bring them back together?
I suggest if I was you I would get them brace%26#039;s now if possible.
I have had braces for 3 months and Im only 15 and I did have some gap%26#039;s in my mouth due to teeth not beside each other.
The longer you wait, the longer you will have braces on (I%26#039;ve got them in 1 year and a half) after 3 months by gaps are getting smaller and some have gone un-noticable. I reccomend you get them now.
P.S good on you for saying Insurance Sites. You beleive, you keep it going ;)
Reply:you are playing with time, if you continue you will lose. 3 years means you already have deterioration, it may not be visable but your missing areas have already declination in the jaw.
If you already have insurace, it would seem to me it doesnt cover the problem very good, it wont hurt to find out what other insurance agencies will pay toward these procedures, of course you can not collect on two insurances but if the other will pay higher percentages up to 80% it would benifit you.
a good smile is a good first impression toward care
It only takes 3 seconds to say %26quot; I LOVE YOU %26quot; , but all one%26#039;s life to prove it
What is love? it means care, in this way we should all love each other.
Yet to find God it is a greater love.
And to realize one day, that a person means more to you than your own life. That is when you know that you are in love. The word love, has different meanings. %26quot;True love%26quot;
The truth of love is very hard to find.
The concept of %26quot;true love%26quot; is a shelter for those find it. Without love, there would be no point to life, no hope, no God because the Bible says %26quot;God is love.%26quot;, no anything. That the good life could not just exist, going forward contrary to these principals.
It is obvious that love means many different things to different people. Some people say the words because they know it is what someone wants to hear.
They say that they love, but with no lasting care to back it up, it just becomes a cheap thrill. How is that love? How can people use such a beautiful words to justify these actions, unless it was created as an excuse to commit wrong and can use that as an excuse to take advantage of another. They use the idea, as an excuse for what they are really feeling. For some it is loneliness and that bitterly dependent feeling fill their hearts. Unfortunately in our world, many settle for this.
People don%26#039;t have to agree on the value and place of love for it to exist. Some ideas about love are wrong. Some people can search all of their lives for love, and never find it. Others can live a lie thinking that they have found it when they have not.
While others find Jesus love, then it is easier to find another that loves God too, and share true love with each other. While some never come to God, yet still find true love in another person.
Love is what it is because of the different ways we feel love exist. In relationship, love can have both a light side caring and a dark side taking.
When you give your heart to a person, thinking that they would never hurt you, you are married and fulfilled or you are left with an empty feeling, and in a way it does kill a part of you. The side of love with the power to hurt makes us able to be hurt. These people use it as an anchor to protect themselves from emotions. Some people will even use it as an excuse to take their own life, trying to escape their pain. For the people who do not understand true love, they get hurt and become weak.
This is the power of love, and yet many still take it lightly. Love has a serious power, which is too often taken for granted. Love can be good or bad, if you do not respect love for what it is to others. Love can take many different forms and can even be deceptive.
One thing about love is for sure; once you find it, you never want to lose it.
Love fills our thoughts, fills our dreams, and can control our actions. No one can tell you what love is to you, because you have to find it for yourself, and define it through your own experiences.
have happy day and love God #1, because Jesus will never let you down or hurt you.
God loves us and proved it comming to die in our place, to offer His love %26amp; to be our friend.
Jesus speaks from heaven Revelation 1:1 chapter 1 verse 1 %26amp; 3:19%26amp;20 %26quot;I love you and ask you to repent of sin quickly. Behold I stand/I am at your heart door and knock to come in, ask me in and i will and be your friend.%26quot;
good prayer=toi keo ai vao long/trong tham tam Jesus (i draw you near to my heart Jesus), toi rat lay lam tiec/toi goi la
co mac toi tay dinh (I am sorry for my sins) hay tha loi cho toi (forgive me) than voi (be my friend) amen
happy day with God love and good teeth, David

How to Black Out my Tooth to be like missing teeth -- as seen in TV/Movies?
In some production plays, tv shows (such as an episode in America%26#039;s Top Model), and movies i notice that actors are able to color out a tooth in black so as to simulate that they are missing a tooth. What product are they using to give this effect? How long does a person%26#039;s tooth stay darkened if applied? Does it rub off easily? Is it toxic if someone were to apply it to all their teeth? Is their a white coloring version?
How to Black Out my Tooth to be like missing teeth -- as seen in TV/Movies?
You can use black wax. It is harmless.
Reply:a quick simple, but not long lasting way is to use raisins. I would carry a box around with you though.
Reply:What i know of is some of them use pencil, and i don%26#039;t think that is too safe though
Reply:use black wax. it has to be warm to mold over for the perfect fit on your tooth. good luck.
Reply:it is not toxic, it is just black carnuba wax. it has similar ingredients to chewing gum. it comes off w/ a little bit of rubbing. no permanent side effects. i think there is a white version.
Reply:use some black wax or if u wanna do all ur teeth use ink and it wont *** out for awhile u nut
Reply:They%26#039;re all good suggestions;%26#039;specially the raisins. I was gunna say black licorice
Reply:Iv%26#039;e done this on numerous occasions when I wanted to be a pirate for halloween as a child. Use black eye-liner, it will stay on for a good while but will come off easily with a washcloth.

My missing tooh has caused the suurounding teeth to tilt.. will braces fix this?
I had missing teeth for a few years and some of the surrounding teeth are moving and tilting.. I am going to look into braces but was wondering if braces can move these teeth back into position so I can prepare to get implants after I make them all straight?
My missing tooh has caused the suurounding teeth to tilt.. will braces fix this?
You will need to see a cosmetic dentist for this.
Reply:Yes it should....they can also use implants to replace the missign teeth once the braces have realigned your teeth im guessing....
Consult a good orthodontist....
i hope it works for you.
Reply:you%26#039;re going to need to get something to replace the tooth before you straighten the original ones. If you do it before, when the braces come off they will go back to how they are now.
Reply:It may depend on how much tilting has occurred. Only a dentist can truly answer this. However, if you can, consider getting partials before doing anything else. If partials are an option, they will stop the tilting of your teeth. Otherwise an empty space will only worsen the problem.
Reply:Yes, that would be why Orthodontists exist.

Missing teeth on a cr125 dirt bike?
I have about 3 missing teeth on the front sprocket on my dirt bike. What problems can this cause? Also, would i have to replace the whole drivetrain or just the front sprocket to fix this?
Missing teeth on a cr125 dirt bike?
It can cause the chain to slip or break, it could smack your case ( that can be expensive if the case cracks). It could cuase you to come to a fast sudden stop ( that hurts). At least put on a new front sproket Around $20. Make sure you keep you chian adjusted correctly
Reply:not sure what can cause this, maybe your front and rear sprockets are not centered with each other., and you would only have to replace the front sprocket, while your at it it is also a good idea to get a new chain also, but not necessary if your on a tight budget.

Missing Teeth Confidence?
Hello, I am a high school student right now and i am missing one of my front teeth. It was knocked out a few years ago and hanst been replaced yet because it cant. I am kinda shy because of this and dont know how to overcome my shyness until i can get it replaced. Thanks for any advice.
Missing Teeth Confidence?
Can you afford a temporary implant/replacement? Maybe payment plans with your local dentist or free/cheap treatment at a dental school.
High School is so superficial---it is hard to have self-confidence when people are so focused on the exterior.
Just make jokes about it. Once people know something bothers you, some folks tend to exploit your weakness. Just smile, and don%26#039;t worry about it! :)
Reply:Well I would try to get financing on a replacement, as mentioned, cuz unfortunately it does turn some guys away. I would maybe try to not let people notice for a bit if you%26#039;re shy, then make jokes. The other option is to be real in their face and act real jocular from the get go, and act like nothing%26#039;s wrong, but that might not be your personality. Good luck :-)

Any suggestions since im missing teeth?
would this effect my braces from moving my teeth together im missing like some of my back teeth thanks. I cant afford dental implants right now should i just get dentures to replace the missing teeth .I dont want bridges or crowns thanks
Any suggestions since im missing teeth?
A partial is what you need but you wouldnt want to be fitted for one until after you get your braces off and wear a retainer. who knows but the orthodontist that some of the problem will not be corrected with just braces.
Reply:You have to afford dental imaplnts... what other choice ddo you have?
I don%26#039;t know if I can help you, but here goes. To find out everything you need to know about orthognathic (jaw correction) surgery, wisdom teeth surgery, implant dentistry, TMJ problems and anything really to do with facial and jaw surgery generally, you should go to www.dentalimplantsaustralia.com. The site is an Australian one, and deals with oral and maxillofacial surgery, and also with dentistry and orthodontics. Good luck! I hope that helps you.

Do missing teeth really affect the jaw's shape/health? I just had one pulled (last lower molar).?
Dentist wants to put in an implant, but the only info I found relating missing teeth to jaw issues was all from cosmetic dentists%26#039; websites. Do I really need an implant? Will my upper tooth (over the hole) realign/misalign without something on the bottom?
Do missing teeth really affect the jaw%26#039;s shape/health? I just had one pulled (last lower molar).?
If the tooth on the opposing arch has nothing to bite against, over time it might start to rise out of its socket (%26quot;super-eruption%26quot;). Replacing the missing tooth in that case would be a good idea.
See your dentist for an evaluation and discuss your options.
Hope this helps!
Reply:I don%26#039;t push my patients to replace their last lower or upper molars. (called 12 year molars or 2nd molars). We really do most of our chewing on the 6 year or 1st molars. But, if you do not have it replaced, you do run the chance of the upper molar over erupting. Sometimes, (rare), the lower 1st molar will drift back when the 2nd molar is missing but that hardly ever happens. Discuss the options with your dentist. If what he says makes sense to you AND won%26#039;t financially break you; you may decide to follow his advice. (I always caution my patients to not spend so much of their %26quot;dental%26quot; money on one problem that they end up letting the rest of their teeth suffer. Doesn%26#039;t make sense to do heroics for one tooth if you sacrifice others)
Reply:teeth are not attached to bone, rather they are embedded into ligaments that are placed into the alveolar bone. so when u chew or apply any pressure onto it, its able to move slightly. what prevents teeth from moving too much, is the adjacent teeth its next to. If there is an extraction, then either teeth next to the missing tooth has the potential to %26quot;drift%26quot; out of position. The changes might not be evident immediately, but over a few years, the drifting, will cause, an incorrect bite/occlusion, and can cause a cross bite to develop. For the most part it is cosmetic, but serious problems that can manifest would be temporal mandibular joint dysfunction, due to the improper occlusion, as well as traumatic occlusion causing loose teeth.
Reply:well it depends which tooth u took it out, if it is your front tooth upper or lower it will not look good.
How ever when any one pulls a tooth out eventually
the other tooth in your mouth will move, i mean you have empty space in your gum.
now the daintiest are so cheap they will do or say anything to charge arm and leg from their patients and they tell the patients that it is the dental laboratory who charge that much.
that is a total lie, the most that they pay to dental laboratories is $50.00 or $60.00 per unit.
and then they charge patients $500.00 or $600.00 per unit.
as i said before if your tooth is in front yes u do need the implant, but if your tooth is the molars
the back tooth i do not think is that necessary.
your jaw will not move it is your gums that expands, due to empty space not a whole lot, and not in a day or two, it will take longer.
in general any crown or bridge work it will cost the dental labarotries 50.00 or 60.00 doller and u as a patient have to pay 500.00 or 600.00 per unit,
the prise for implants is tottaly diffrent, it starts from $130.00 per unit which is the prise that dental laboratories charge the dentists and of course the dentisets will charge u way more.
good luck
Reply:hi, iam a dentist........
yes, missing tooth defentiely do affevt the shape of your jaw, you may have folds on ur cheek in due course.
and ya even the alignment of upper teeth will b disturbed with the missing lower ones.
dentals implants are costly coz they are the the only artificial replacements which have roots, all other artificials replacements are placed over the gum, while implants are inserted into the gum.

I%26#039;m getting braces because I have lots of spaces between my teeth and i have a majior over bite but I%26#039;m missing 3 teeth in the back and i was wondering how they put braces on you if you are missing teeth then you have teeth that has no tooth next to it?

they put braces on all your teeth and then they will slowly move them together or what your Doctor %26#039;s plan is . don t worry they know what they are doing i have had my braces on for three years almost . it will work out great .
Reply:they have to end somewhere, so the orthodontists will put brackets on each tooth and make the wire shorter. it will hurt, but only for about a week after each check-up.
Reply:the wire just goes over the empty spaces... usually the ortho will put a %26quot;chain%26quot; over it to pull the teeth together.
Reply:thye still put the wire over it it wont make a diffrence.it will just feel awkward.i had the same problem,my 2 front teeth wouldnt come down then when they got the braces on they came down.my suggestion is to ask your dentist or orthodontist

Should I get Dental Veneers for 2 missing teeth and crooked teeth?
I was thinking of getting veneers for my upper teeth. The thing is, I am missing total of 3 teeth and my teeth are very crooked.. so much that even though I have 3 missing teeth you cannot tell because they moved into the places of the missing teeth (I had tooth crowding before). My dentist told me I need braces, and then once space is made where my teeth are missing I will need dental implants.
But I thought that maybe just skipping the braces part and getting veneers would solve this faster .... can someone help me out on this. Will this work?
Should I get Dental Veneers for 2 missing teeth and crooked teeth?
go for the braces. it will make you feel a lot better about your teeth. and you will have your natural teeth instead of fake ones.
faster isnt always better. veneers are only a temporary fix, they will break eventually, and you%26#039;ll have to pay for new ones. whereas teeth last a lifetime. do the braces
Reply:yes, it may be more expensive and take less time. but it is totally up to you.

Is it the missing teeth or what caused the teeth to go missing that causes health problems?
Missing teeth is linked to heart disease, stroke and dementia. I can%26#039;t find any data showing whether it%26#039;s the change in occlusion and mandibular/maxillary anatomy, osteopathic resorption or TMJ maladies that cause the problems; or the toxic oral fauna that caused the tooth loss. The studies usually equate missing teeth to problems rather than infection. That may be like saying there%26#039;s a correlation between caskets and death. It doesn%26#039;t signify the real cause. I%26#039;ve heard of a Tuft%26#039;s U. study that spoke of chronic pressure on the vagus nerve and obstructed cerebral blood supply leading to alzheimer%26#039;s and M.S.. If anyone%26#039;s heard anything, please inform.
Is it the missing teeth or what caused the teeth to go missing that causes health problems?
I believe it is supposed to be the bacteria that caused the loss to begin with. Here is one quote from an article I found:
%26quot;Yes, recent research suggests that the bacteria that cause gum infections can also lead to or worsen atherosclerosis, the arterial disease that leads to heart attacks and strokes.%26quot;

Teeth aren't straight and oh yeah, missing teeth too (is this common?)?
well I have a question about something:
my teeth aren%26#039;t straight, and I was suggested to go and get braces but there is another problem. I got a full mouth x-ray and the dentist (a new one) said that I have alot of teeth missing. The thing is, my mouth is small so the teeth that I do have fit fine and If I had more then they wouldn%26#039;t. And the teeth that I do have don%26#039;t have roots either. Only about 3 of them do. So that means that, if I assume correctly then I have all my baby teeth still in my mouth. yikes..
I have 24 teeth in my mouth and I%26#039;m 20.
I was still encouraged to get braces from the dentist that did the x-ray and I think he%26#039;s mad! How can I get braces?!
I was thinking that they would fall out if I did get braces
(one question is well would they? or is this an irrational fear?)
since I don%26#039;t have roots to secure my teeth firmly into my jaw.
And is this very very rare to have a condition like mine?
thanks.
Teeth aren%26#039;t straight and oh yeah, missing teeth too (is this common?)?
Would like to see that full mouth x-ray of yours. It is not uncommon to have baby teeth in your age. Sometimes they are retained if the permanent teeth do not have enough potential to push the baby teeth out. Braces can be helpful in getting out the permanent teeth which are deep inside the bone. You need to visit an orthodontist for planning your treatment in a proper way.
Reply:When I was younger, the dentists never said that I had a missing tooth. At 13, I went to an orthodontist to get braces. That%26#039;s when they found out that I%26#039;m missing a tooth on the bottom row.
I had two options:
a) Squeeze my teeth so that it wouldn%26#039;t become lose when I%26#039;m old. But by doing this, I will have an even worse overbite.
b) Push it out, so that theres a space left. At 18, I will get a tooth implantation.
I chose option B, so they left a space. Theres a fake tooth (kinda) on my retainer, so it doesn%26#039;t look like i have a missing tooth.
Your problem seems a bit different though. I suggest you to go to a different dentist, and see if the results are the same. If they are, you should just listen to the dentist.
Hope that helps!

I didnt realise I had 7 missing teeth until I went to the dentist recently. Except for one on the right, the others are not so obvious. I always thought I had ONE missing teeth not SEVEN. Anyways, how can I do from here? Also when do you think I should put braces. Lastly, how do I get whiter teeth and healthier gums?
p.s. i definitely need braces because my teeth overlaps the wrong way. it looks ok just that i want to put braces to correct it cuz the correct way looks nicer :D
7 missing teeth =(?
Hello
I had the same thing. I was born without having 6 of my natural teeth (or they actually never grew). My dentist said it was because of my bone (jaw) structure, that it was very small and didn%26#039;t have room for the missing teeth. No worries, it doesn%26#039;t affect anything to have these missing.
As for when you should get braces, it depends. How old are you? I had braces when I was 14 years old, on the other hand, my cousin just got hers (she%26#039;s 28 years old). The only consideration is if your wisdom teeth has grown in or not. If they are out already, that%26#039;s fine. If not, then the dentist might have to remove more of your teeth to accommodate them later.
Rub your gums each night gently with your finger tips.
Floss regularly and get a good cleaning once a year from a dentist.
To get whiter teeth, either buy the over the counter whiting gels/strips or ask your doctor.
Good luck
Reply:ask your dentist if you make payments, do you want to be best you can be, take your teeth fix and get braces
Reply:It all depends on which teeth are missing and how big the gaps are, if there are any gaps...

Braces with missing teeth?
hey i have had braces for about 15 months im supposed to keep them for up to 24 months anyway the teeth on either side of my two front big teeth are missing so my orthodontist is pulling all of my teeth closer together so u cant notice the missing teeth but i%26#039;m soo worried that its not gonna look naturall because the teeth next to my two front teeth are pointy ( he said hes gonna file them down though ). anyone else ever have this situation ? he was gonna do implants but he said that it will look totally normal once finished but i%26#039;m still worried i really want perfect teeth thanks
Braces with missing teeth?
I dont have that exact problem but i have a similar one...I have WAY to much space in between my teeth...I have to keep my braces on and because when they get taken off there will be bunched up gums i have to get them laser removed...dont worry your gonna look great.
Reply:I haven%26#039;t heard of this being done, although I%26#039;m sure it%26#039;s possible. Does he have pictures of work like that he%26#039;s done in the past. My dentist was going to do some out of the ordinary work and he showed me pictures of the before and after from somebody else. I would also be hesitant. I%26#039;m sure it will look fine, but I dont%26#039; know if it will be %26quot;perfect%26quot;. If perfection is your goal I would go with the implants. It%26#039;s hard to fix the filed down teeth after it%26#039;s already done.
Reply:yeah, i had that problem. its not gonna look bad tho. its just gonna hurt a bit. your gonna need some tyalnol (or another pain killer) and alot of food you dont have to chew. like mashed potatoes, jello, pudding, ice cream. you know all that. just be prepared for it to hurt. but trust me once your teeth get filed down your gonna look great!
Reply:I have never had that problem but, I%26#039;m guessing that you are having nightmares. A little advise, let the Dr. do the work because then you are going to be worried about things that might happen. If it looks fake at the end then, worry.
Don%26#039;t worry. :)
Reply:Before you make a decision, I recommend that you get a second and third opinion, specifically from a cosmetic dentist in your local area if you%26#039;re concern how your teeth will look. A good cosmetic dentist should be able to tell you what all your options are, but also have your long-term health in mind. Don’t just go to a regular general dentist because it sounds that you are also concerned with the way your teeth look, which is what cosmetic dentists specifically look to do.
In a nutshell, from what I’ve learned in my similar situation, the ideal solution is to move your teeth to their natural position and go for implants where your natural incisors are. So rather than have your orthodontist pull your teeth forward, you may want to look into having your teeth pulled back to make room for implants (I believe you need at least 6mm of space). Having your teeth pulled foward may, like in my case create too much space to close and leaves the possibly that teeth will shift, especially if you don%26#039;t wear your retainer. Also, depending on the size of your K9s and incisors, they may look too big together to look natural.
You will probably be looking into veneers, implants, and/or bridges. You may need to develop a plan with your orthodontics to accommodate these possible solutions.
Improper treatment of your situation can result in jaw problems in the future and your teeth may begin grinding overtime in a way that may be unfavorable. If you are relatively young, take your time with this process because this concerns your health and look.
I am in a similar situation and did what your orthodontist is recommending, but I want perfect teeth like any other person would and his recommendation ended up complicating my situation more in terms of time and money spent. Also, there are plenty advances in dentistry to suggest that you have a variety of options.
I strongly urge you to get a second and third (and fourth and so on…) opinion from a cosmetic dentist. Beware as many dentists will claim to be cosmetic dentists, but you’ll want to find a dentist who actively participates in advanced training (beyond regular dental school) and affiliated with reputable cosmetic dentistry association. I personally met several cosmetic dentists for my situation (even Dr. 90210) and you begin to realize that there are better qualified dentists than the average. Keep in mind, as one dentist told me, cosmetic dentistry is like a religion and all of them claim their method/training is way to go, but in several cases, there are several approaches you can take.
When finding a dentist, look for those who have accreditation to organizations like the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). I looked at the credentials and affiliations of some dentists who I know were good (they’re usually listed on their websites, displayed certificates on their walls, or resume upon request), and searched for dentists who had similar accreditations. In my experience, there were several dentist who received advanced training with Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies and/or Esthetic Professionals.
Also, if/when you meet with the cosmetic dentists, be sure to see some of the work they’ve done (photographs of cases they’ve worked on).
Be warned that most insurance don’t cover cosmetic procedures. So you may have to look into payment plans if necessary. Of course, it will come down to you what you want to pay, but I caution you to remember the old adage, you get what you pay for.
Do your shopping and educate yourself along the way. At the very least get a second and third opinion, and do lots of internet research when you shop and locate a doctor.
