My kitten's (6 months old) has 2 missing adult teeth according to his vet. I am taking him in for x-rays on Tuesday to find out if they are perhaps still up in the gum. What are some other possible reasons why they would not be there? Have you experienced this before?
My kitten is an indoor kitty who is my only pet. He is spoiled rotten so it is not possibly that he got into a fight or anything.
Any ideas? Thanks.
Kitten has 2 missing adult teeth?
Most likely, the adult teeth haven't grown in yet.
Which adult teeth are you talking about? If they're molars, just wait a month or two before having x-rays taken. 6-month-old kittens don't have all their adult teeth. They're the equivalent of a 10-year-old child.
Reply:Hmmmm. Sounds like your vet is right but it might just be taking a while for his teeth to grow in. When I was a baby they thought I'd stay toothless forever! But now look at me I'm just fine. My cats haven't had that experience before but no need to worry. He should be just fine.
Reply:It may be that your off on how old your kitten actually is? It may be that he is a late bloomer. I'd wait a month before becoming worried.
